What we need from you
A device whose protocol we already know (a variant of an integrated family) is usually ready in days. A completely new protocol takes longer, depending on its complexity and the quality of the documentation. In the feasibility review we give you a concrete estimate before starting.
- Brand, model and regional variant of the device
- The manufacturer's communication protocol documentation
- List of configuration commands, if it has them
- One or two physical units for testing
- A SIM with data for the verification phase
- A technical contact at the manufacturer or importer
How the process works
1. Feasibility review
We analyse the protocol documentation and confirm what the device can report. We tell you plainly which functions will be available and which will not.
2. Translator development
We write the protocol interpreter and connect it to the platform's data model. That is the step that makes the device behave like any other.
3. Bench testing
We verify frames, commands, inputs, outputs and events with the physical unit, not only against the documentation.
4. Field testing
A real installation in a vehicle over several days to validate reporting, power draw and behaviour when coverage drops.
5. Publication
The device appears in the catalogue with its datasheet and becomes available to the whole network, not only to whoever requested it.
