Fuel control
Fuel is usually a fleet's largest variable cost and the hardest to audit. Vortex reads tank level from a capacitive probe, from the vehicle's CAN bus or from a flow meter, and reconstructs the consumption curve.
What it includes
On that curve it identifies refills, unauthorised drains and deviations from the vehicle's expected consumption, with the detail of where and when they happened.
- Reading by capacitive probe, CAN bus or flow meter
- Level curve with noise and sloshing filtering
- Automatic refill detection with volume and location
- Drain or siphoning detection with immediate alert
- Efficiency in km per gallon or litres per 100 km
- Comparison against the vehicle model's theoretical consumption
- Reconciliation with fuel-station receipts
- Consumption report by route, driver and period
How it works
Calibration that matters
A tank is not a perfect cylinder and a probe does not respond linearly. Vortex stores a calibration table per vehicle so that a level change translates into real litres, not into a percentage nobody can audit.
Refill against receipt
When the system detects a refill it records volume, time and coordinate. Cross-checking it with the station receipt surfaces the gaps: the tank took 120 litres but the invoice says 150.
Drains in motion
Siphoning rarely happens with the vehicle parked somewhere obvious. The algorithm separates a level drop from normal consumption from an abrupt drop that does not match engine load, and alerts on the spot.
